This collection contains selected papers from the online conference Excellent Human Resource for the Sustainable Safety of Inland Water and Ferries Transport in New Normal Era (IWPOSPA 2020) held in Palembang, Indonesia on the 21st and 22nd of October 2020. The event was hosted by the Politeknik Transportasi Sungai, Dan Penyeberangan Palembang (Poltektrans SDP Palembang).
The conference was designed to provide a collaborative forum for educational institutions and government stakeholders in the transportation sector, facilitating the exchange of new research and industry developments in the region’s water transport sector, with a particular emphasis on sustainable safety for inland water transportation methods and the impact of Covid-19 on the water transportation sector.
This collection contains 50 peer-reviewed papers covering various themes related to water transportation including legal, logistical, environmental and economic concerns. Topics include regulation and law enforcement for inland water and ferry transportation; maritime transportation logistics, infrastructure, and technological solutions; and sustainable and environmentally friendly management of water transportation systems.
These papers will be of interest to academics, students or professionals researching or working in water transportation, particularly those interested in the practices adopted by Indonesia’s Ministry of Transportation.
