This collection contains selected papers from the 1st International Student Conference on Linguistics: Trends and Future Perspectives in Linguistics Study held in Denpasar, Indonesia on the 30th of June 2021. This event was hosted by the Masters of Linguistics, Postgraduate Program, Universitas Warmadewa.

The conference was held to bring together students to discuss the recent trends and issues in language and linguistics education.

This KnE Social Sciences collection contains 46 peer-reviewed papers highlighting the latest trends in the field of linguistics and its subfields – phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, translation, applied linguistics, language teaching and learning, discourse analysis – and interdiscipinary fields such as sociolinguistics and ecolinguistics. Studies examine movies, books, advertisements, social media profiles, and YouTube videos, among others, to understand the complexities of linguistics education and provide updates on the latest trends and innovations in the field.

These papers will be of interest to academics, students and professionals researching or working in the field of linguistics.
