This collection contains selected papers from the International Conference on Art, Design, Education and Cultural Studies (ICADECS). This event was held in Malang, East Java, Indonesia on the 24th of October, 2020, and was hosted by the Art and Design Department, Faculty of Letters, Universitas Negeri Malang.
The conference brought together researchers, practitioners, teachers and students to explore new research, innovations and ideas on how to support and promote art and culture during the COVID-19 pandemic and broader modern times.
This KnE Social Sciences collection contains 48 peer-reviewed papers. Topics include the design and production of souvenirs and apps to encourage tourism; analyses of traditional cultural practices ranging from dance and music to puppets, batik and woodcarving; and the development of online tools and approaches to support students during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in arts education.
These papers will be of interest to academics, students and professionals researching or working on art, design, education and cultural studies.
