This collection contains selected papers from the International research conference Science and Technology Research Symposium (SIRES) – Life Sciences Track held in Bandung, Indonesia on 15th of September 2021. This event was hosted by the Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM Universitas Islam Bandung, Unisba).

The conference was organised to bring together key stakeholder groups to share new developments relating to new scientific and technological innovations and discuss their practical application.

This KnE Life Sciences collection has three main strands linking healthcare and the environment. The first strand focuses on new research into the beneficial properties of a range of natural herbal remedies. The second strand looks at the role of technology in protecting immunocompromised individuals. The final strand has a broader scope and contains various studies exploring sustainable technologies and climate change. 

These papers will be of interest to academics, students, and professionals researching or working in the interdisciplinary fields combining science and technology, natural remedies, and the environment.
