This collection contains selected papers from the International Conference On Mathematics And Science Education (ICMScE) held in Bandung, Indonesia on 3 - 4th June 2022. This event was hosted by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia.

This conference was held to facilitate communication between researchers, teachers, and students to share their solutions for present and future mathematical and scientific needs to achieve a smarter and more sustainable society.

This KnE Life Sciences collection is the first of three issues to be published based on the outputs of the conference. It contains 35 articles that deal with the latest findings within the life sciences, predominantly looking at the different ways that scientific discoveries within the field of agriculture could support the holistic development of our societies. From studying the effects of fermentation and cellulose-producing yeast on the cocoa beans that sustain many export economies, to uncovering potential solutions to catastrophic coral bleaching epidemics that threaten our oceans, this issue connects the social with the scientific, as we seek new solutions to problems we face on our planet.

These articles will be of interest to academics, students or professionals researching or working in life sciences, social sciences, sustainability research, and agriculture.
