This collection contains selected papers from NaSSiP 6: The International Online Seminar Series on Periodontology in conjunction with a Scientific Seminar held online in Yogyakarta, Indonesia on the 13th, 14th, 20th, 21st, 27th and 29th of August 2021. This event was hosted by the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada.
This conference was held to discuss the latest developments in periodontology and the challenges and complications associated with these. The conference brought together members of the Indonesian Society of Periodontology (IPERI) and periodontal enthusiasts to discuss how these challenges can impact the treatment approach, and the scientific and technological improvements needed to overcome these.
This KnE Medicine collection contains 39 peer-reviewed papers. Some researchers examine the rapid progress witnessed over recent years in the field of periodontology, and why there is a need for refining treatment protocols based on clinical expertise and solid research. Others discuss the importance of clinical decision-making in treating patients and value enhancements for addressing complex patient needs.
These papers will be of interest to academics, students and professionals researching or working in the field of clinical dentistry, especially periodontology.
