KnE Social Sciences / International Conference on Culture, Arts, Languages, Literature, and Education (I-CALLED)

This collection contains selected papers from the I-CALLED (International Conference on Culture, Arts, Languages, Literature, and Education) held Online on November 1-2, 2023. This event was hosted by the Faculty of Language and Arts Universitas Negeri Jakarta.

The conference was held to facilitate multidisciplinary dialogues on the importance of preserving tradition, culture, and heritage through art and education in a globalised world.

This KnE Social Sciences collection contains 21 peer-reviewed articles that explore holistic Indonesian education models and practices that focus on enriching the relationship between students and their heritage. By employing art in its many forms (whether through visual art, literature, film, or music), scholars and educators work to recentre connection, culture, language, and indigenous knowledge back into their class plans. By exploring these mediums, researchers in this collection are able to contextualise holistic education into the wider national ecosystem, as these shifts in mindsets could lead to improvements in a variety of industries and social relationships, whether when exploring how to improve tourism or facilitate more impactful social wellbeing amongst teenagers.

These papers will be of interest to academics, students or professionals researching or working on Culture, Arts, Languages, Literature, and Education.
