KnE Social Sciences / International English Language Teachers and Lecturers (iNELTAL) Conference 2021

This collection contains selected papers from the International English Language Teachers and Lecturers (iNELTAL) Conference 2021 held in Malang, Indonesia on the 21st and 22nd of August 2021. This event was hosted by the Department of English, Faculty of Letters, Universitas Negeri Malang, Indonesia, and organised in collaboration with the Academy of Language Studies, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Perlis Branch, Malaysia.

The conference brought together English teachers, lecturers and students to exchange their perspectives and ideas on the best practices for teaching the English language in Indonesia, focusing on all three aspects of reading, comprehending and writing the language.

This KnE Social Sciences collection contains 28 peer-reviewed papers. The research discusses the challenges and complexity involved in teaching the English language and literature in Indonesia from a 21st-century standpoint. Some papers explore perspectives on classroom discourse strategies such as group assignments and study buddy programs – particularly for young learners. Others compare online and offline learning approaches and discuss the efficacy of blended learning. One paper argues about the benefits of developing a discipline-specific visual dictionary for nursing students.

These papers will be of interest to academics, students and professionals researching or working in the field of English language and literature.
