This collection contains selected papers from the 3rd International Conference on Governance, Public Administration, and Social Science (ICoGPASS) held in Jakarta, Indonesia on the 18th of October 2021. This event was hosted by the NIPA-School of Administration and the Indonesian Association for Public Administration (IAPA).

The conference was held to discuss the recent advances in theoretical, experimental and applied research in the fields of governance, public administration and development in a post-COVID dynamic society, particularly from the perspectives of inclusivity, accountability, sustainability and digitalisation.

The research throws light on the challenges faced by the government and the urgent need for scientific development in the fields of administration, policy-making, the economy and digital innovation. International Conference Transdisciplinary Paradigm on Islamic Knowledge (ICONIK 2020)

This collection contains selected papers from the International Conference Transdisciplinary Paradigm on Islamic Knowledge (ICONIK 2020) held in Kendari, Indonesia on the 7th and 8th of September 2020. This event was hosted by the IAIN Kendari in cooperation with Southeast Asia Academic Mobility (SSEAM).

The theme of this conference was “transdisciplinary research” through an integration of previously divided disciplines such as natural sciences, social sciences and humanities, science and technology, and Islamic studies. It was held to bring together academics, practitioners, and independent researchers from the fields of humanities and social sciences to share and exchange knowledge, practices, and ideas on building a transdisciplinary paradigm based on Islamic knowledge.

This KnE Social Sciences collection contains 60 peer-reviewed papers. The research covers a range of topics including EFL and associated challenges, project-based learning and information-gap activities for improving student communication, assessment techniques and use of digital platforms for learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Some papers also examine the effect of parenting styles and teaching methods on students’ mental health.

This collection contains selected papers from the International English Language Teachers and Lecturers (iNELTAL) Conference 2021 held in Malang, Indonesia on the 21st and 22nd of August 2021. This event was hosted by the Department of English, Faculty of Letters, Universitas Negeri Malang, Indonesia, and organised in collaboration with the Academy of Language Studies, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Perlis Branch, Malaysia.

The conference brought together English teachers, lecturers and students to exchange their perspectives and ideas on the best practices for teaching the English language in Indonesia, focusing on all three aspects of reading, comprehending and writing the language.   

This KnE Social Sciences collection contains 28 peer-reviewed papers. The research discusses the challenges and complexity involved in teaching the English language and literature in Indonesia from a 21st-century standpoint. Some papers explore perspectives on classroom discourse strategies such as group assignments and study buddy programs – particularly for young learners. Others compare online and offline learning approaches and discuss the efficacy of blended learning. One paper argues about the benefits of developing a discipline-specific visual dictionary for nursing students.

This collection contains selected papers from the Second Economics, Law, Education and Humanities International Conference (ELEHIC-2021) held in Padang, Indonesia on the 14th and 15th of October 2021. This event was hosted by the Universitas Bung Hatta, Indonesia.

2021 Annual Conference of Indonesian Association for Public Administration

This collection contains selected papers from the international research conference 2021 Annual Conference of Indonesian Association for Public Administration (IAPA 2021) held in Surakarta, Indonesia on October 27th 2021. This event was hosted through a collaboration between the Indonesian Association for Public Administration and Faculty of Social and Political Science, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Indonesia.

This conference was held to discuss recent ideas, evidence and issues on the intersection of the use of IT advances and public administration in a changing world. The conference considered a range of perspectives, from governance to gender, and situated the discussions with the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This KnE Social Sciences collection contains 61 peer-reviewed papers on governance and public policy. One of the main areas examined by the researchers is the implementation of technology for electronic public services. Other researchers evaluate government policy responses to COVID-19 from restrictions to support for particular populations and elements of the economy. Integration Processes in the Russian and International Research Domain: Experience and Prospects

This collection contains selected papers from the international conference Integration Processes in the Russian and International Research Domain: Experience and Prospects held in Petrozavodsk, Russia on October 7th-8th, 2021. This event was hosted by the Karelian Research Centre (KarRC) of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).

This conference was held as a dedication to the 75th anniversary of KarRC RAS. It provided an opportunity to showcase the integration processes of interdisciplinarity, interactions with educational institutions and international activities. The conference brought together researchers from KarRC RAS and their colleagues from other scientific organizations focusing on the processes of integration in the natural sciences and humanities.

This KnE Social Sciences collection contains 25 peer-reviewed papers on interdisciplinary basic and applied research in different areas of science, essentially exploring what we know about people and the environment, and our place within it. This collection contains selected papers from the international research conference The 2nd International Conference on Meaningful Education (2nd ICMEd) held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia on the 3rd-4th of October 2020. This event was hosted by the Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta.

The theme of this conference was “Developing Meaningful Education Towards Transforming Society 5.0 for the Betterment of Human Lives”. It was held to bring together academics, practitioners and independent researchers from various educational fields to share and exchange knowledge, practices, and ideas on areas related to education, particularly meaningful education.

This collection contains 56 peer-reviewed papers.
