International Conference of Psychology 2023 (ICoPsy 2023)

This collection contains selected papers from The International Conference of Psychology 2023 (IcoPsy 2023) held in Malang, Indonesia on June 17, 2023. This event was hosted by the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Negeri Malang.

The conference was hosted under the theme “Future Psychology: Interaction of Human Behavior, Culture, and Technology”, and invited researchers, academics, educators, practitioners, and consultants within the field of psychology to discuss and debate some of the most prominent challenges faced in human behaviour and psychotherapies today.

The KnE Social Sciences collection contains 30 peer-reviewed articles that explore the psychology of some of the most vulnerable members of our societies. This collection offers an intriguing balance of studies that touch on the self, the social, and the solution to some of the leading mental health issues faced today. Gender-based discrimination, self-esteem issues, climate disaster traumas, and the mistreatment of disabled members of society are all topics touched upon in this issue, as social scientists work to heal the symptoms of society’s growing mental health crisis, while simultaneously uncovering the roots of the problems faced. Growing social inequalities, the role of social media in mainstreaming unrealistic social norms, and the growing deterioration of the nuclear family unit are all explored as causes for the crisis harming millions of minds today.

1st Doctoral International Conference 2023

This special issue contains a selection of papers presented at the Doctoral International Conference (DIC) held in Makassar, Indonesia on 15-16th June 2023. The event was organised by the Indonesian Association for Public Administration (IAPA) in conjunction with the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Hasanuddin University.

The conference was organised to engage leaders in public policy and social mobility with the evolving needs of Indonesian society. Dealing with several sub-themes related to governance practice and policies, researchers, academics, educators, practitioners, government officials, and consultants were invited to theorise and implement practical solutions to challenges directly affecting social life in the region. 

This Kne Social Sciences special issue contains 75 peer-reviewed papers that delve into the realm of public administration studies. In a world where insecurity and change are becoming the new norm, experts are increasingly being called upon to find fast and effective solutions to the ‘unknown unknowns’. Governance plays a key role in determining the success of these plans, as developing countries leapfrog to address issues like sustainability, social empowerment and mobility, educational reforms, and bureaucracy, all within the digital age. The conference was held to address institutional transitions occurring in Indonesia’s public and private spheres, as technology, religious integrity, and the COVID-19 pandemic continue to influence an evolving society.  

This collection contains 24 peer-reviewed articles utilising multidisciplinary models of analysis to explore key questions posed by social scientists across the Global South. Scholars explore the need for new legal frameworks to protect working citizens in the age of technology and social uncertainty. As digital applications and artificial intelligence continue to take over human resources and support roles, employees in many industries are left legally vulnerable to the decision-making processes of these same technologies, sometimes being completely replaced by them. Legal frameworks are therefore required to adapt to Industry 4.0 at an exponential rate to maintain their relevance for the everyday lives of Indonesia’s population. This special issue deals with both practical and theoretical questions about the role of technology in job security and industry development within the Indonesian context.

This collection contains selected papers from the International Conference on Advance & Scientific Innovation 2022 (Social Sciences Track). The conference was held in Medan, Indonesia on the 19th of December 2022, and was hosted by the Forum Kerjasama Pendidikan Tinggi.

The conference was organised to bring together researchers and practitioners from the different branches of social sciences.
