The 4th International Conference on Rural Studies in Asia (ICORSIA 2024)

This collection contains selected papers from the 4th International Conference on Rural Studies in Asia (ICORSIA 2024)  held in Semarang, on November 12, 2024. This event was hosted by the Faculty of Social and Political Science.

The conference was held to empower society in the dynamics of socio-cultural changes.

This collection includes 37 peer-reviewed articles on the Social Sciences and Humanities. It presents a variety of innovative studies in the field of sustainable waste management and irrigation. Furthermore, this conference emphasizes community resilience, disaster management facilities, the promotion and development of sustainable tourism, quality of life, food security enhancements, conservation of local cultural values and traditions, moderation of religious practices, as well as the impact of inflation on poverty and welfare. Apart from these, it also explores sustainable educational practices and the role of e-commerce for MSMEs.

The topics cover issues related to education in a sustainable society, education for peace, character education, political dynamics in Asia, culture and tradition in the transformation era, history and memory, climate change and social resilience, poverty and social welfare, industrialization in rural areas, justice, and peace.

These papers will be of significant interest to academics, students or professionals researching or working in social and humanities fields.
