This collection contains selected papers from the International research conference Questions of Expertise in Culture, Arts and Design held in Yekaterinburg, Russia on June 6-7, 2019. This event was hosted by the Department of Art History and Sociocultural Technologies, Ural Federal University.
The conference was held to discuss emerging approaches to the concept of expert assessment in culture, art and design, and explore the increasingly important role of the contemporary humanistic scholar as an expert capable of mediating between the diverse institutions, groups and agendas that comprise modern society and influence its culture.
This collection contains 40 peer-review papers on contemporary issues of expert assessment in the fields of art history, cultural studies, design and decorative and applied arts. Topics include, among others, issues of cultural memory, role of art in urban space, expert assessment of artistic objects, issues of attribution and assessment in arts and crafts, role of design in modern society and culture.

This collection contains selected papers from the 1st World Conference on Gender Studies (WCGS), held in Malang, East Java Indonesia on 23rd October 2019. This event was hosted by the Research Centre for Gender Studies and Health, Universitas Negeri Malang, and received sponsorship from Universiti Malaya, the National Family Planning Coordinating Agency Indonesia (BKKBN), Leiden University and Melbourne University.
This event focused on the highly topical theme of “Gender Studies towards Inclusive Societies,” with a particular emphasis on research from prominent scholars in gender, social work and education studies, who shared their insights and expertise regarding various strategic issues relating to gender and population.
This well-rounded collection contains 39 peer-reviewed papers exploring various elements linked with gender studies. International Seminar on Language, Education, and Culture (ISoLEC) is held annually and sponsored by the Faculty of Letters, Universitas Negeri Malang, Indonesia. This seminar was initiated by four of five departments—English, Arabic, German, and Art Design—existing in the Faculty of Letters. It aims at improving the number of publication by lecturers and researchers, from within the Universitas Negeri Malang or without, domestic and abroad alike. The seminar was first launched in 2017, and will periodically be held on an annual basis in years to come. The seminar invites papers resulted from any studies conducted in the field of language, education, and culture in the broadest sense in order to assemble all of those who share the same academic interest and to disseminate the most recent research findings applicable to the learning process in the university and is able to affect social transformation and policy change with regard to the fields concerned. The specific theme addressed in each seminar is determined based on the need and recent development relevant to issues of language, education, and culture. International prominent scholars and researchers are invited to give keynote speeches that will spark further studies in the related fields. Papers submitted to the seminar are peer-reviewed by a number of international reputable scholars and researchers to guarantee not only quality but also recentness of topics being discussed as to catch up with the latest academic development related to language, education, and culture. In the end, the seminar wish that all works collected and published will serve as one of the references that scholars and researchers can use to conduct their future research so that they are able to offer both theoretical and practical contribution to the more respected academic discourse, social transformation, and policy change in terms of language, education, and culture not only in Indonesia, but also at the international level.

The 6th ICOEN 2019 was held to answer the dynamics, opportunities, and challenges in creating entrepreneurs. This conference is a part of a series of ICOEN annual seminars that have been held five times in Indonesia and Timor Leste. The theme of the conference was to promote entrepreneurship concerning economic, industrial, and business developments. Thus, the theme is “Creating Entrepreneur with Innovation Capability to Generate Value.” The 6th ICOEN had international speakers from four different countries who are experts in the field of entrepreneurship education, small and medium industries, the psychology of entrepreneurship, and entrepreneur. The IV International Scientific Conference, “Communication Trends in the Post-literacy Era: Multilingualism, Multimodality, Multiculturalism” was held at the Ural Institute of Humanities of UrFU on November 8–9, 2019.
