This issue contains selected papers from the II International Congress of Science and Technology Morona Santiago CITMS 2021 held in Macas, Ecuador on the 8^th–10^th of December 2021. This event was organized by the Morona Santiago Campus of the Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo.

The conference brought together researchers and practitioners from the fields of administration, environmental sciences, education, mining, zootechnics and technological information to discuss the latest evidence and perspectives on a wide range of topics.

This ESPOCH issue is a collection of 11 peer-reviewed articles. Several papers examine the pressing issues of mining, soil degradation, and industrial activities, their detrimental effects on the environment, and how we can prevent or reduce the ultimate damage. Others discuss the role of workplace physical activities in reducing occupational diseases, the use of digital platforms such as Facebook for running political campaigns, and the application of filters and rules to prevent cyberattacks originating through emails, among others.

These papers will be of interest to academics, students or professionals researching or working in the fields of engineering, technology, basic sciences, agricultural sciences, health sciences, life and environmental sciences, and social and administrative sciences.
