This issue contains selected papers from the I International Scientific Congress of Innovation, Science and Technology Alive Amazon (I CTAV 2021) held in Coca, Ecuador on the 25^th–27^th of April 2022. This event was organized by the Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo - Sede Orellana, Instituto Superior Universitario Oriente, Universidad Estatal Amazónica, Instituto Superior Intercultural Bilingüe Martha Bucaram de Roldós and Instituto Superior Tecnológico General Eloy Alfaro.

The conference brought together researchers and practitioners to discuss the latest developments and research in food safety, environmental sustainability, economic revival and engineering and applied technologies.

This ESPOCH issue is a collection of 7 peer-reviewed articles. Some papers explore topics such as food safety, environmental protection, household waste compost creation, and the effect of certain fertilizers on the aquatic environment. Others discuss the use of information technology such as remote sensing for detecting weather changes and neural networks for identifying pedestrian movements.

These papers will be of interest to academics, students or professionals researching or working in the fields of environmental sciences, agronomy, tourism, zootechnics and information technology.
