Fallujah is an Anbarian city that was founded in 1926 as per the royal administration order no. (866). It sits on the left side of the Euphrates. According to the 1950s administrative boundaries, Fallujah is adjacent to Khadhimya from the north, Mahmoudia district from the east and Msaib district from the southern Fallujah boundary and is 65-km west of Baghdad. This city is linked by a single street that passes through the city, dividing it into twin neighborhoods. It passes along the Fallujah iron bridge that was constructed by the British in 1929 so the British forces could travel between Bagdhad and Habbaniya. Surrounded by big orchards and farmlands, Fallujah is a small city whose populated area was no more than 4km2 in the 1920s. Fallujah had since its founding, a great impact on the political life in Baghdad.
