This issue contains selected papers from the I International Congress of Science and Technology Morona Santiago CICTMS 2020. The research discussed in these 15 papers explores potential alternative solutions for tackling challenges concerning environmental sustainability and food security.  

ESPOCH Congresses: The Ecuadorian Journal of S.T.E.A.M. is a new Open Access journal, established by Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo (ESPOCH) in 2021 to collect and showcase groundbreaking research in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.) disciplines produced by Ecuadorian researchers. The journal contains a series of special issues, each based around one of ESPOCH’s annual conferences and comprised of original research articles derived from papers presented at the event.
