This collection contains selected papers from the Brawijaya International Conference on Business Administration, Taxation, and Tourism (BICBATT 2023) held in Malang City, on September 26-27, 2023. This special issue contains selected papers from the Indonesian Association for Public Administration Annual International Conference held in Padang, Indonesia on 26th-27th October 2023. This event was hosted by the Indonesian Association for Public Administration in collaboration with the Faculty of Social and Political Science, Universitas Andalas.

The conference was held to investigate the role of New Public Governance (NPG) models on Indonesia’s public administration systems. By bringing together leaders in the field, the conference explored this new model as a potential solution for the country’s strained public sector and social inequalities.

This KnE Social Sciences issue contains 48 peer-review articles on collaborative governance, state and non-state partnerships, and the impact of public administration on the fabric of society. As a middle-income country, Indonesia maintains a vibrant democratic system that serves to support its multi-ethnic population to the best of its capacity. Scholars in this issue analyse the different means by which the country has managed to achieve such status in an otherwise turbulent world by exploring its adoption of the NPG model of governance and working to increase collaboration between state and non-state actors. This collection comprises selected papers from the 1^st Raden Intan International Conference on Shari'a and Law, which took place in Bandar Lampung, Indonesia, from June 19^th to 21^st, 2023. The event was hosted by the Faculty of Syariah, Universitas Islam Negeri Raden Intan Lampung.

This conference was held to bring together leaders in modern Islamic jurisprudence to explore the intersections of Islamic Law with the evolving landscape of technological advancements in Society 5.0.

This collection contains 60 peer-reviewed papers that explore Islamic Law within a modern context. Society 5.0 has brought on several advancements and shifts in the way that we interact with systems and each other, both in the private and public sphere.
